While they are eating pizza in Prime, the pilots receive an alert that their mysterious foe is once again on the move. Crash, Thomas, John Stone, and Andi Jaymes all set off in pursuit to a metaverse that is very familiar to most of them. On this trip they are headed into the far-flung future; in metaverse 00668, they are 3000 and late.

As they land in avatars that are descendants of Hex Destiny, Johnny Legion, and Butch and Abigail Baker, they confront the changed times. Super powered folk are on their way out, and heroes are a dying breed. While their foe is not immediately obvious, something is lurking in this time that is a very familiar evil indeed.
